We offer lightweight versions of all Forte Speaker Cabinets.
Our lightweight cabinets are contructed with 3/4" thick black poplar plywood, aka Italian poplar (top/bottom/sides), and composite panels (speaker baffle/back panel) consisting of a polypropylene honeycomb core bonded with fiberglass/resin and faced with polycrylic-coated luaun on both sides. This composite material is very stiff and light, and has excellent vibration damping properties, making it an ideal baffle material.
The weight difference compared to a typical plywood cabinet is substantial. The lightweight versions compared to our own Baltic birch cabinets are 30-40% lighter depending on which models you compare.
